Post subject:  plying for hire

ive read on another forum that "if your for hire light is on you dont have to stop at all for anyone only cant refuse stopped on rank" if this a london thing or a country rule a i cant find it in the acts or on here

I think if your roof light is on in your manor, then you are advertising your wares, so if someone takes you up on that invite, then you should stop.

I agree most don't, but to the letter of the law you should. :wink:

what i wanted was the exact law our local laws dont say we have to or dont only the ranks rules so when im passing a fare going on a phone booking bylaw does the meter have to go off just to be put back on when i get to the booking (is messes up my totals so i think ill put a kill swith on the for hire light)

I have a kill switch inline to the top light, its off most of the time, if I don't like the looks I sail by, also all doors locked, stops the idiots opening your doors as you stand at traffic lights
