Has anyone ever returned a car to the finace company after paying over half the payments?

Yes I did with LTI - the agreement will state that it is a rental agreement until you have made all of the payments. Once you have made half of the payments, you can providing the car is in reasonable nick notify them as to your intentions (one months notice I think) and they will even come and pick it up.

At the time I was going to have another one off of them, but! found out that they were carving me up on part of the deal - so I took great delight in saying up yours :D

I've heard of one or two - why do you ask?

The ones I've know about just want to get another new motor, and get one before the warranty on the old one runs out.

It shouldn't show on your credit record, but I've heard that the same finance company won't give you credit again.

There is no way that it should put a blemish on your credit rating as you have complied with the agreement.

I would not worry about as to whether they will give you credit again, their rates are not that clever and there are much better deals out there if you are prepared to shop around.

I saved over £4.000.00p interest on a five year deal by going elsewhere.
