I think they are all much of a muchness.
I'm not a fan of the video version as they take up too much room, so it would be the CD version for me. Let's face it it's only a tiny camera linked to a recorder so it shouldn't be past most of us to fit our own. |

There are some that are not much bigger then a fag packet but they are £500+ I'm afraid i went for the £200 version which is a vid recorder (small one) and a panasonic camera, it works great to. |

I think this is a topic that will come up more and more as time goes on, so could you guys give a bit more detail. i.e costs of purchase and fitting - make of product - purchase from where - tel Nos - problems - warranties, infact anything that will give a good guide. And dont be shy if you think you have paid to much, we all make mistakes. Learn together. |

What costs were involved you/them, and which council funded it. I would like to go forward to our council with details as opposed to going in stuttering. Many thanks John |

Vido recorder. http://www.jacksons-camping.co.uk/videotv/video.htm Camera. http://www.henrys.co.uk/cctv/bullet.htm really easy to fit just a 12v fused supply and the video fits in the glove box or boot, The camera is just a plug and play device, i have it fitted on the u/s of my rear view mirror so i can turn it in any direction (handy if someones kicking off at your door etc. On long play it records for 8hrs in full colour and it works really well in minimal light. |

Radioman I understand where your coming from, but simple systems like this have been quite effective, I can think of one occasion when a driver was being accused of attempted rape by his passenger, the video showed the truth, End of matter there and then, and if a driver is assaulted at least the police have the video evidence of the people involved, when we first introduced a system similar to this , a great deal of the violence stopped. the problem with systems that takes a picture every 10 seconds, is that in 10 seconds in great deal can happen and be missed.. |

Do you have any idea as to how the investment was distributed ? and what costs were you involved in ? |
