When I bought a Hackney Plate for £15,000, 11 years ago, my friend who was, and still is on private hire laughed at me and said "you don't own it you know, and they might de regulate, your'e better off like me on private hire"

I went to work when ever I wanted or in most cases needed to, he had to work shifts laid down by the company, if I did not want to go out I did not have to tell anyone, he had to report in, and then face disciplinaries if he does not work when told he has to, over the years he has paid more than £46,000 in radio rent and has nothing, so if they do de regulate next week I have earned as much as him and still spent £31,000 less and if they don't de regulate he will still be spending his radio rent and I can sell the plate for twice the cost, and he still maintains he did the right thing, I coloured my hair last week because they thought I was a dumb blonde, I don't think so.

I am just writing to say goodbye, I have sold the plate which was not mine for three and a half times what I paid for it plus it has given me a living for 11 years off to fill shelves at Asda...................

Fill the shelves at Asda now that is daft as you like to go off to work when you like and not after work shifts. Maybe you just like getting bossed about by a twenty year old with a degree.

I have a chartered accountant who is going to take care of all that, unlike the majority of taxi drivers I have nothing to hide and am only too willing to pay my way.

Well I am leaving and I wont be back on this website, it's beneath contempt the way the Tigger thread has been locked, there is no freedom of speech on this site for normal people, only for people who have problems that they think can be solved by threatening violence to concerned real taxi drivers.

if you get bored at asda you could always get another plate off the council, if you pushed them hard enough you could get another!

I am sure I am not JD, but at least he seems to be on the side of right, although some seem to say he is an opportunist, but they may be suffering from some form of mental illness and are often suffering from a bad case of hypocrisy, most people just want to be able to do what others do, they want equality of opportunity free from interference from others.

I know I have left my dummy.....but I am sure you can find a suitable orifice to place it in.

I'm sure you're quite right , they do want what everybody else has, only trouble being is they do not want to pay for it, and as for that dummy I will keep it for you for now, I am sure you have spares.
