So Mr Downtown, do you pay £450 a month office rent, or £12 Taxi-Call? 8-[

The choice is yours.

Wonder how long it'll be before it's banned?
If it's like the rest, how do you rember addresses without writing it down while driving?

Yes, I do answer calls on the move (hands free) I write down the house number at the next set of lights, or I use something I call my "memory" The callers number shows on your phone. If you do forget, you can call them back, using "call back". A witheld number will show as so on your display, and I do not always accept a call from a witheld number. I call my customers back to tell them I am outside the pick up point, which is professional than sounding your horn. Regular callers names can be shown on all circuit members phones. Stop looking for what you may think may be wrong with Taxi-call, and start looking at the many things that are right with it.

What makes you think it might be banned?

The first time someone's killed because the driver's writing down an address.

That will not happen in Lincoln. As administrator of the taxi-call circuit here I carry out an intelligence test on anyone wishing to join. I hold up my hand and ask them how many fingers am I holding up!

Eventually found one of the drivers today. Now he says he is happy so far. But would he say otherwise?

I think it's not for me, but a fair few are looking at it.

On the one hand, your signature says "Unmet demand you're having a laugh"

And on the other you're not willing to try out something that could (will) increase your takings.

I do not understand drivers with your attitude. Paying a ton a week to an office, i can understand why not, (me neither,) but for £3:00 a week, why is it "not for you?"
