| Post subject: | Passengers With Bad Body Odours? |
How do any of you deal with people with bad body odours? Every now and again I get a passenger in who either stinks of BO or stale p*ss. What would the consequences be if I was to ask the passenger to get out of my vehicle? How many others have to suffer with the great unwashed? It's also worth noting, how many passengers get in after one of the smelly brigade and they can still smell the stench from the previous passenger and think it's the driver?

Wear a gas mask,rubber wellies,with matching gloves. 10 cans of air freshener,run around for ten miles with windows open,and should be fresh for next customer. Alteratively,kick out the smelly beggar,know what I would do,refuse to pick up Essex

Open the windows and freeze them to death. Or tell them straight. I think the council should allow us to charge a smelly tariff. Or a pound a fart.

Hapenned to me that,prson got in smelt of pee then next person got in and opened the windows fully-i explained what the smell was and that ididint smell.  so i drove round with the windows open for 15mins and i cou;d still smell the pee.so then i went to kwik save and got a bottle of domestos spray.that fixed it  i keep the domestos v handy now!!!!

i use the inside of one of those round stick on air fresheners. Its like a felt pad you just rub it on your seat when your passengers have beggard off! |

Can you legally kick out a passenger because of their poor personal hygiene?

I'm not sure that that would be a good reason, but I'm sure you could have thought of one by the time you drag them out. 
It might be an adea to get your office to blank the address. |

I am sorry to say but in my experience it is just as likely that you are to find a fellow driver that is more offensive than most customers, that leaves the punter paying to sit in a cesspit! |

On my circuit we have couple of drivers who smell. WE call them the Chinese Mr Whiff and Mr Pong.

i get the same sort of pronlems with takeaways. even if its wrapped up and in a bag the car still stinks if their curry or big mac for ages after. i have a regular customer who owns lots of dogs and he always has that stale wet dog smell about him. the car normally stinks of wet dog for about an hour after no matter what i do. all you can do is to try and mask it with air freshner, but you dont want to go making the next fare choking on the stuff. |

101 The driver of a taxi shall not refuse to convey a hirer or passenger to any place within the licensed area unless (a) any hirer or passenger is not prepared to give a precise destination; or (b) is drunk or otherwise not in a fit and proper state to be carried; or (c) whose condition or clothing is offensive or likely to cause damage to the interior of the taxi; or (d) refuses to cease smoking in the taxi when requested to do so by the driver; or (e) is accompanied by any animal which is likely to damage or soil the interior of the taxi except a guide dog; or (f) for any other reasonable cause. |

I use something called odour kill, it costs me £5.00 per gallon and will last you a year, spray it in your car before you start work and it works all day. If you get a person who's personal hygiene is not up to spec give it a little spray when they get out. |
