what is the best to do buy my own taxi or rent one do have to purchase a brand new taxi at £24000 for gt yarmouth what do you think is best

as its a new hackney plate my council will only except brand new taxis they want to get some of the old bangers off the road

Only a complete idiot would buy a brand-new cab, without first renting one from a existing owner and evaluating how much he is likely to make and for how many hours. :wink:

thanks for that coment i know how much taxi drivers earn in my town but renting here is very high £360 per week would be a lot cheaper to buy just wanted to know the pros and cons of renting and owning

hi

last time i drove a taxi was 21 years ago just got laid off again for the secound time this year so i am going back to taxi as i liked doing the job back then and allways missed it and dont want to work for anyone

Challenge it in court, how can they insit on "brand new"? They can proberly insist on them not being beyond a certain age but brand new? i wouldnt have thought so.

there is no way around it has to be a brand new taxi on a brand new plate only other way is to buy a secound hand taxi with a plate on it but they just dont come up for sale here
