Besides the urgency to get home, what do you think compells a sober female to take a ride in an unlicenced vehicle. Sunderland have issued a warning to all women about the dangers of taking an unlicensed Cab. Some of these unlicensed drivers may take the opposite view and say they are no more dangerous than some of our licensed drivers? lol "Tongue in cheek" http://www.sunderlandtoday.co.uk/ViewArticle2.aspx?SectionID=1107&ArticleID=806083 Best wishes JD |

I think some people think that un-licensed cabs are cheaper, and at times more readily available. However if we got rid of taxi number restrictions, then most of those lads picking up illeagally, might be able to do it legit. Now there's a thought.

U LOOKIN FOR A CAB MATE
they r illegal cause they wanna be ... whats stopping them from bcoming a P/H DRIVER the cost most likely or maybe they r banned even from driving or worse no MOT or INSURANCE whatsoever.. the sooner they r stopped from impersonating a P/H driver the better i see lots of unliscensed drivers when i am out drinking and going to lap dancin bars the cars they use r always sheds on wheels.
Also lads cruising up and down in their flash cars offering lifts to nice lookin' girl clubbers is another occurance ive seen

These [edited by admin] have no desire whatsoever to be properly licensed as either HC or PH. They have their dole or sick money plus what they are making as pirates. They are better off than most of us legitimately self-employed. One parasite in my area has been running his own self-styled operation for months now giving his mobile number to many people and picking them up in a dilapitated J reg Peugeot 405. The licensing section know all about this cabbage but apparently cannot do anything unless they are on top of him when he takes the money.

![]() I would assume they same that's stopping them being a legit cab driver, as opposed to an illegal cab driver. As for your licensing section, my view of LOs is that they will say and do anything, to get them off doing anything.
The LOs of Aberdeen, Plymouth, Birmingham and London, who's work on Limos and ambulance cars will exempt them from the above comments.

thats another good reason for having a uniformed vehicle like the london black cabs as a taxi in every licensed area then we would know what we are looking for also i think each taxi ought to have two plates one on the back as is the other on the front so we can tell its legally licensed also a good point would perhaps be too have the drivers badge number & name on the front doors then nobody would feel unsafe or insecure thats my view |

thats my view pinkwheels you would make a good licensing officer or trade union official in Gateshead as neither of them think either a driver holding a hackney license is free to drive any cab in that area many cabs have 2 drivers please think things tthrough. |

thats my view like we have in Plymouth. Every PHV has a rear Plate, pair of Door stickers and the driver must have a licence badge. most have PH office telephone numbers on too. Still doesn't stop [edited by admin] up young ladies trying to flag anything with 4 wheels at 3am on a sunday morning though. |

It made me laugh going through Nottingham this morning about 3am people were even trying to flag Police cars down. |

you can have an identity badge in the front window in a plastic sleeve, so when you change cars you can take it with you. |
