Scot, this site they dont worry about, though privatehireandtaxiforums presents problems youve blown thier secrets. to get your spyware youve clicked onto a pop up somewhere and software has been downloaded. soon you wont be able to come on here fighting bloody pop ups. get it done! |

A few weeks back I had a similar problem with this Golden Palace Casino bollocks which took over the computer and I was inundated with pop-ups at the same time. I used the 'system restore' tool, which basically takes your computer back to a certain point in time that you specify - ie before you were invaded by the crap. It may not work, but try Start...Programmes...Accessories...System Tools...System Restore. It may not work with you, and there may be drawbacks (although i couldn't see any) but it was certainly a lot easier than downloading software and the like. |

Scot when you are on the computer do you get a red cross indicating info is going out? do you have notices asking you to send a report to Microsoft? if it does send them and keep sending them they will deal with this in time. Yorkie |

Scot, click tools then internet options, and a box will come up. At the top of that box there will be a web address, if you just change that back to your home page, that should do it. |

If you don’t know what you’re doing you have a major problem I’m afraid. Most Spyware and Malware is not that easy to get rid of. You probably run Internet Explorer, I suspect that’s how you got these parasitic invaders of privacy in the first place. Internet Explorer is a conduit for Active X controls. If you don’t know how to suppress them you are always going to get problems such as this and so will everyone else sooner or later. The remedy is in your own hands, do some research on Spyware and Malware and educate yourself on how to protect against these parasites. Learn how to disable those active X controls in Internet Explorer which you don’t really need. Learn about the registry keys and how easy it is for spyware to Hijack Internet explorer browser toolbar keys. When you do finally install these disinfectant programs like the ones I have listed below you will see just how infected your pc really is. Learn how to manage and view cookies. Also Learn about hijacking dialers. The only way your going to combat these types of intrusions is to READ about Browser security. It may put you off once you start reading and you see what can actually happen to your pc, but don’t be daunted by it all just learn and educate yourself about security and the software programs that I have listed. The following programs should serve you well, read up on them, some will detect Spyware that the others won’t and vice versa, that’s why you need to use them all. One note of Caution, Spyware and Malware insert Keys into the registry, they can also alter registry keys. So when you are prompted to delete the objects that have been found as spyware be very careful you don’t delete something that you shouldn’t. Try these programs. Ad-aware, http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ Spybot, http://www.safer-networking.org/ Spyware blaster http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html Hijack this http://tomcoyote.com/hjt/ Hijackthis may be a little too complicated for you. It will generate a log but you can always post your hijack log in one of the Hijack forums and someone will advise you what to delete. Best wishes JD |
