Now that diesel prices have gone over the pound barrier, what is being done to give taxi drivers a rebate of fuel duty to help keep fares down.
at the moment you can only claim the VAT back if your over the threshold, but not under it.
or if you run a taxi bus
This is not fare to the small companies, and there should be something in place, like a card that you can buy fuel from any petrol station at half price.
Has anyone any thoughts on this, I have one and that is make it licenced hacks only

Excellent idea and then I can take the car down to my garage and drain the cheap fuel out and put it in my private car, go back and fill up and then sell the cheap stuff to my mates. If they insist on checking the mileage to confirm the usage, I will have the only car in history to have been clocked FORWARD.

Grandad has for sale a beautiful 07 plate car which has only covered 1,000,000,000 miles although it drives as if its only done 40,000.

Fuel duty rebate ............. Road tax rebate ............. VAT rebate.

I would fully support all three.

The amount of tax we pay, because of the above, is obscene ............ and we should look to do something about it.
