Which is long overdue, our last fare increase was way back in November 2002. Us and another firm have had the increase leaving the third firm to stay the same. I just hope the next increase isn't another 5 years away. Code: Old 1st Mile Old Extra Mile New 1st Mile New Extra Mile
Tariff 1 £2.20 £1.20 £2.60 £1.40 Tariff 2 £2.75 £1.50 £3.25 £1.75 Xmas £3.30 £1.80 £3.90 £2.10 The sad thing is despite the increase the T1 start is still under £2, going from £1.40 to £1.60. |

It good that your eventually catching up with the rest of the uk, but if as you say one of the firms is staying the same wont that affect you, with them being cheaper

![]() It will affect us slighty as it did the last time they refused to up their fares when us and the other firm did. On the plus side, it will mean they will get all the dregs and bagheads using them. The sad thing is that some/most of the drivers on the firm that won't up their prices will be happy with what they are charging instead of upping their prices and every firm and driver being in the same boat as we were last week. |

On a serious note, does the council state you have to have a meter when i think you do not have to, and can more or less charge what you like

The reality is that the private hire are not bad but they have to realise that the competition in future will be Delta undercutting them on price

![]() Not too sure what the council state as the car is not mine but unlike Delta (Crosby, Liverpool) we all have meters here in Southport and to be honest I'd rather drive a car with one. |

![]() Before the recent price increase when Delta were charing their weekend rate I was told that they weren't that much cheaper than ourselves. |

We do more work in Liverpool in a minute than we do in a year at Southport. There's an impenetrable barrier north of Thornton, resulting from huge unpopulated areas of farmland and fields. On very limited occasions we will go to Southport or return from Southport, but Southport TO Southport, no chance. The geographically isolated population of Formby has its own indigenous fleets, as does Southport, and as does the spread of houses from Thornton, through Liverpool, out to St Helens and beyond... that's the Delta Zone... P.S. You're next, not Your next..

I wouldn't worry too much about the spelling or pronunciation the message still gets across.
