You couldn't make it up. ![]() http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/tyne/3845491.stm But the best bit is where then cabbie says "Most of the time people tell you where to go and you get to know this and you learn this way." Wow what service. ![]() |

I thought all taxi drivers/operators,required a test of some description. Crazy that some councils just hand out badges and let people get on with it. Mind you possibly I would fail now. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Alhzeimers Alec (I think). |

If councils dont begin this Phase correctly, the quality of an areas drivers, and provision decreases not increases. and with it valuable years of experience goes down the chute. and on appeal how do magistrates understand that bloke a has been a solid taxi driver for 20 odd years without a blemished record, there has been no change in circumstance, today this man is not a fot and proper person? councils going into this phase must be reasonable, having a cut off date for applicants and start testing only new applicants. not ideal but fair. I agree with Wharfie ![]() But that wally saying that everything is just 'fine and dandy' because customers know where they are going, do the cab trade no favours whatsoever. ![]() |
