Taxi Driver Online

A friend of mine informed me last night that a friend of his runs a 16 seater psv on an O licence and that his insurance policy stipulates "he can't take bookings shorter than 12 hours notice" prior to the hire taking place.

I would imagine this is to stop it being used as a private hire vehicle. Does anyone else have experiance of this "time frame" insurance clause?

A guy I know who's a owner driver wanted to run a 16 seater on a circuit in Mansfield, he got the ok from the Council but could not work from the radio, it had to be pre booked by I don't know how many hours, something to do with the O licence I think.

That would be correct because he would be working under private hire conditions, which his insurance would not cover.

There are significant risks associated with taking vehicles over 8 seats on bookings for immidiate hiring.

1 the contract is not studied and signed.
2 There is a likely hood of signature by someone not of sound mind i.e [edited by admin].
3. there is likely to be no sound contracting address.

yes its common insurance are protecting thier interest and the clients

and so they should.
