Reading the latest copy of Private Hire & Courier magazine the illustrious leader of the bosses association in London is quoted as saying in front of a meeting with the PCO;

'We mustn't confuse license signage with branding. The mayor is not going to bring in branding because we know that door signage cause rape and increased plying for hire'.

Now we can leave the plying issue debate for another day, but please Mr Wright can you give us your evidence that PH door signage cause rape?

Or are you talking out of your ar*e?

Perhaps you can tell me what percentage of unlicensed minicab/licensed PH rapists in London were driving vehicles that had signage?

Would the answer be 0%?

And what percentage of those rapists were driving licensed taxis with signage?

Would the answer be 0%?

Perhaps with comments like that it is no surprise to anyone reading the article that it ends with the words;

'Without the support of four members a year ago, the LPHCA would have stopped trading'.

I find that an odd thing to say, I wonder if he could advise us why signage is the cause of rape and not the persons committing the offence? Perhaps he means signage could lead to the public thinking private hire vehicles were available for immediate hire and he cannot trust some London private hire drivers not to committ rape? Thats what it sounds like but I suppose he really didn't mean that but just what did he mean?

Regards

JD

Hear, hear, No to Minicab door signage!

I told you :D

Whatever anyones view on the above issue, I know I would rather have Steve Wright representing my interests in the London Minicab industry, opposed to a certain numpty who used to print comics on Fleet Street.
