Mr T's shotgun? Terry's picture? HM Immigration? They're here to stay mate, it would take a few hundred cars to be crushed, licensed and all, before the rodents go away. Console yourself with the thoughts that they make pocket money in comparison to the real trade, and as long as they continue people will forever consider that side dodgy. That will always benefit us. |

The reason why the activity goes on is because there is no enforcement from either the police or licensing authorities. The next time someone gets raped, murdered or assaulted, then besides the perpetrator we know who to blame. Perhaps we should conduct a highbrow campaign at the lack of such enforcement and at least shame these people if nothing else. Regards JD |

Why call yourself a stressed controller!when you are in fact a job/work dispatcher.and by the way have you spoken to mr,Flannagan yet about your latest problem, or perhaps its best not to stick your head above the parapet again ,how do you propose fining punters.Under the law the police have the right to seize any uninsured vehicle and remove it immediately, and unless the driver produces documents within a certain period, the vehicle will be crushed. AND SO THEY SHOULD BE . |

Red devil, dispatcher/controller=same thing. Fine the customer?, easy, introduce a law, this goverment are good at it. In london we know have red route exemption stickers, when they were supplied to my office they came with CLEAR instructions on where to fit them, and yet I would say 30% of my drivers have fitted them in the wrong place, is it any wonder we have such a bad profile in the public's eyes. Mind you, the instructions were in english.....

That's a good point Rambo, I've seen them in every corner (and middle) of the rear window.
Where are they meant to go? |

GBC, front one goes directly under yellow phv disc. Rear one, if you are looking at the car from behind it goes on the bottom right of windsreen. I really hope TFL issue parking tickets to the drivers that have fitted them wrong. |

I noticed one tonight with the 'pre-booked only' part cut off. Mind you he had stuck it in the correct position.

One of my customers found himself stranded at natural History museum at midnight last night, due to an error by his PA. He hailed a black cab, who toured three cash machines to get the £250 cash fare before leaving on the 65 mile journey. Journey took 80 minutes. So return would have been the same. So he paid £3.85 a mile and the driver was earning £93.75 an hour. As long as I hear stories like that I reckon you will have a problem with touts. |

Yeah you're quite correct Tom, a friend of mine got stranded by the same museum last night had to get a Minicab home, the Minicab charged him £6700, the driver was earning £346 an hour. Great thing keys on a computer keyboard, you can type what you like to suit the circumstances.
