i have been off air for a few weeks now, i get this SAD symptoms because there is no sun, totaly peed off with it all anyway things maybe starting to look up in the Taxi trade in York, the Council have taken most drivers down to the bottom with all their threats, new vehicles in black and all that, there is signs that this may not go ahead, more later plate rentals have started to rise by 10 quid a week from this weekend few drives slinging in their plates back to owners, but theres always a mug who thinks the grass is greener this side some drivers this last month have been unable to pay full subs for weekly hire to owners some drivers cant pay the income tax due on the 31st of this month the new person incharge of York Tourism committee [a solicitor of good standing] has been riding shotgun in cabs getting the lowdown, wants the station permit system busted, after numerous reports of tourists and vistitors have to wait at York rail stn for a taxi when they [the taxi] decide to come along the solicitor said its not right that a tourist or visitor to York can wing their way in to York, catch all fast connections only to be held to ransom at York stn for up to an hour to wait for a taxi, not on he said, and he is going to make this change lets hope he can change all this |

Very interesting. If the solicitor can convince York station that the current franchise is not working and it needs to be overhauled then I shall take my hat off to him. Regards JD |

This could be due to the best practice guidance that states that it is not a requirement to change the colour PS what has happened to the dark windows saga the new cab that could not get a licence because of the dark windows

Once again the facts are wrong on this one. The side windows have been approved and the rear does have to be changed but a time scale has been agreed. No one at the council knows of any legal moves taking them to court. |
