| Post subject: | Lightning Strikes twice |
Two accidents in ten days. Both when an uninsured driver has pulled out infront of one of our cars. Is this plague hitting everybody else? One incident was where a disqualified woman driver was driving her husbands car 'without his permission', so his insurance company are not answering letters. |

You'll still get paid via the motor insurers bureau, it's an organisation that all companies pay into to cover themselves against un-insured drivers, it might take a bit of time to pay out but you'll get there in the end. |

So have the police given her a fixed penalty fine for driving without insurance?

I suspect there are more serious charges on the statute that are available to the police if they really wanted to throw the book at this lady. Regards JD |

Of course, but the comment was more of a link to Tom's insurance claim. If the woman has been given a 6 point £200 fixed penalty then at least it confirms she wasn't insured. But that fine and points often makes them suddenly insured.

at least this one wasn't a hit and run. as you have the ID for this person you can try a private claim through the courts. |

No point taking someone with no money to court. Yes MIB will pay eventually but the compensation will be sat on my fleet policy claims record and bump up the premium. Our local radio today said that Police cameras/computers identify 45,000 cars a month on the road without insurance or mot. But the Police are too busy with serious crime to do anything about virtually all of them. |

I got smashed up the arse last year whilst I was taking my sister to the airport. My sister was going mad!, I was glad it was a new merc and a company car. Got paid out no problems. In london it has reached epidemic proportions, but the police are doing regular ANPR road blocks to catch the offenders. |

Only last week police in Merseyside stated that they have removed 25,000 uninsured vehicles in the last 12 to 18 months.... and most of them had been crushed..... suddenly parking seems to have got a lot easier..

Round our way Vosa turn up once every 3 years for an afternoon and clamp a few cars in some of the streets with council houses they usually catch about 7 or 8 and thats it for another 3 years |
