I don't need to stick my head in the sand, I deal with the real world.
The yanks would never let oil prices go that high again, and the Arabs need money more now than ever.
There is a current oil glut, and many poor nations in the old USSR would only be too pleased to sell more.
Both Nigeria and Venezuela are also desperate for the mighty dollor.
Now this doesn't mean oil wont go up, and we should still take care.
But the oil price will always be what we can afford.
because if it isn't then they wont have anyone to sell too. The problems are the oil companies and the speculators.
Sort them out and fuel will be a lot cheaper.

Don't read too many tabloid newspaper headlines.

Compared to the oil crisis in the 70s it is cheap in real terms and the rise won't devestate the world economy like it did then.

Of course we'd all like cheaper fuel, and rises might tip a few failing businesses over the edge (which would have failed anyway sooner or later), but the world won't stop revolving. Yet.

I don't believe prices are going to rise steadily upwards; what will happen is they will jump up and down, around a steadily increasing average. So they will probably be OK around Christmas time. This view is reflected in the book "Global Trends 2005".

I know I've said it before, but check out ASPO's site....

http://www.peakoil.net

and get a copy of "The Party's Over" by Richard Heinberg.

There was also an article called "the end of cheap oil" in a recent issue of National Geographic.

It mentions the $75 per barrel figure mentioned earlier, but it's an adjusted figure meaning "$75 in today's money".

I think the more people that panic about the oil issue, the more the speculators will up the price.

But what's the worst-case scenario for our trade?

Lets say that fuel doubles in price to £8.00 a gallon (£4.00 now). Your car does 30 miles to the gallon, and you get paid mileage for 18 of them (60%).

So that extra £4.00 will be met by simply increasing your rate by 22p a mile.

And remember that's the worst-case.

tut tut tut
Sussex, weve been telling the council for years that we needed 10% cos fuel had gone up 2P

suppose we will have to pay the ultimate penalty driving in Gatehead!

Hydrogen is an explosive gas.

Oxygen supports combustion.

now then Nige and Mick, what do you get when you add the two together?

Post subject:

Mixing Oxygen and Hydrogen is called agglomeration, mix the 2 together you have fuel for cars.
