If I thought it we could get support from most of the taxi and private hire trade I would propose we have a SUPER TUESDAY where everyone stops work in support of the case for the Taxi Drivers fuel grant, and also the opposition we cab drivers have towards the increase in fuel charges brought about by the tax escalator.

I think it is about time we all pulled together and lobbied for the same fuel tax rebate concessions as those granted to bus and train operators.

I don't know what's happened to the guy who sunk the OFT namely Mr Kavanagh or Mrs Joanne Multi plate Connolly but the fact remains that these two individuals don't really give a chit about the things that matter to the every day cab driver.

Therefore the only preservation we can rely on is probably "self preservation".

Regards

JD

And if I thought we would get support, I would be amongst the first to man the barricades. But we won't will we?

I cannot get all drivers in Lincoln to agree to a fare increase, in fact some are calling for a fare CUT!

I didn't escape, they threw me out, said I was beyond help, being half Scotch.

If you were Mr Jimbo then you would realise that the Scots don't like the term Scotch instead of Scottish, and Scotch is usually used as short for Scotch whisky

I would also be only too pleased to join the crusade, but we all know it's doomed.

And we only have ourselves (being the trade, not the good folks on TDO) to blame.

I am of Scottish ancestry, my Father was born in Fife, and brought up in South Queensferry, moving to England in 1935.

I knew full well that Sotch is a drink, I thought I might well wind one or two of you up. A bit easy today. Rather like asking a Canadian what part of the U.S. they are from.

I was born in England of an English Mother, and am therefore English. If I turned up in Glasgow claiming to be Scottish, I would probably, rightly, get filled in.

I for one will give you the benefit of the doubt, but I liked you more when I thought your usage was incorrect rather than now when I think you're a bit immature. :D

I'm not on benefits, and doubts are the contents of an ashtray, are they not?
