How do Luxury hire vehicles (or stretch Limos for that matter)who's operators advertise for Weddings, Airport transfers, tours etc get away with it, Theyre not plated as far i can see or licenced by any authority but seem to operate pretty much like Private Hire Vehicles, its bad enough trying to find insurance for Licensed vehicles so how on earth can these Vehicles who obviously work for Hire and reward get away with it and be covered with passenger liabilty insurance....Is there some Little rule that i have Missed which that would allow any car to operate without license.

As for whats Classed as a luxury vehicle is open to person interpretation because if you were used to riding Donkeys I guess a Reliant Robin May be considered luxury transportation...any Takes on this one??

You obviously don't read this site very often or you don't know what is happening in the business.
Firstly, Wedding Cars are exempt from licensing altogether and wedding insurance is very cheap.
Secondly, Most executive type cars that have already been licensed have got an exemption from displaying the plates which means it is not immediatly obvious that they are licensed.
Thirdly, many executive cars and stretched limousines are licensed by the traffic commisioner and have a small "tax disc" size badge on the windscreen but no plates at all.
Fourthly, Many of the bigger SUV type limousines are hired out as self drive vehicles where the hirer hires the vehicle from the company that owns the vehicle and then they employ a chauffeur to drive it for them.

There are of course some rogues, just like in the taxi/minicab trade who just don't think they need a license and do as they please until, hopefully, they get caught.

We will never all sing from the same hymn sheet, in the same way a rank full of cab drivers never agree on anything, other than blaming PH for all their woes.

And if we all did agree, then how boring would this forum be? :?
