Latest news from York on the testing front, if you want to put a new car on now, the Council are booked up and the wait time is 14 days. They have more staff now than they ever had a new testing station and the wait got longer, how? |

Because they can't cheat the MOT system anymore. But the answer to your woes is to allow all MOT testing stations to do the taxi test.

[/I agree with that Sussex, I found out yesterday that the council only pay the MOT going rate for our taxi test and thats £38.75, yet we have to pay the council £170 per year, that leaves £131.25 for admin

You don't have to have a MoT.......... and you don't have to go through the MoT system..... but it still needs to be tested.

maybe its because the taxi dept are on with other things, like advanced CRB's as your name crops up in alphabetical order along with the PH drivers you will get a letter asking you to come in for an appointment to the Council offices with Enforcment officer and some other taxi staff, you will be asked to bring in documents to identify yourself bank statement, utility bill, passport, driving licence etc etc you will be ushered into a private room for an interview, answer some questions, then fill out the form, oh nearly forgot, pay the fee, then they send off the application |

We have to have ours MOT taxi tested from new, I even had the Carens delivered to the testing station from the manufactures compound on a 8 car transporter, and the tester just shook his head in disbelief.
