Post subject:  First posting here about worst fare ever
I'm new to this Internet only been cabbing six months so please bare with me if I don't have all the Jargon. I had a strange insident with a fare from Minories last night and I thought I would share it online. He was a funny-looking punter and no mistake and clearly he was three sheets to the wind, but he wanted Camden Town and that was on the way home for me.

All the journie he was chating into his mobile and his langauge was so foul I did never here the like. Every other word was f*** or c***, I leave the rest to your imagination. So I told the punter in no uncertain terms to leave out the foullnes but he swore even worse at me and I stopped the Cab and ejected him. He tried to put up a fight but the ruder they are the least of a fighter he slaped me like a girl to be honest and I fair lade into him teach him some manners.

Then back home I found his rucsac in the Cab with some old clothes and oystacard and membership card for the Gym. I was all for burning it but the wife said I should hand the rucsac to the Gym and she would wait there and follow the punter home then give his adress to the Police. Or perhaps I can just send pizzas to his house, teach him more of a lesson. Worst fare so far!

These little things happen, just stop outside one of the City of LondonPolice stations (they're always open) and sound your horn, there's always plenty of Police around the City.

Plus, if you involve the Police, he's then in a position to make cross allegations.

He'll have little to loose in life as he's probably part of the great unwashed, you on the other hand don't need the grief.

Eventualy you will get a gut reaction for a loser, then you will learn to drive on by.

I agree. You need a thicker skin Steerpike. If you throw out everyone who swears a lot, you won't make much money.
The next one might also put up a better fight and "fair lay into you"
I don't know about your LA but ours would take a dim view of your actions here. I suspect the police might also.

I would agree with gusmac . Unfortunately the police in most parts of the country are not the cabbies best friend. With a fare like that it's best to "switch off" and get the journey over with after all if you throw him out you don't get paid !

Very true about the police not being very friendly towards Cobbies, why is that the case? Theories or stories anyone.

I have found the police to be generally unhelpful with a couple of exceptions, always found the transport and M.O.D. boys to be brilliant and once when I had a bilker in Hornchurch the local boys went out of their way to get my fare for me!

Because you have idiots like the GMB London Branch secretary appearing on telly and calling them racists. :roll:

I agree wit gusmac, you need a thicker skin or you'll be broke. Mind you, I'm new to the trade too and there have been a couple of moments where I've thought "What the hell am I doing here listening to half and hour of this?!"

Couple weekends ago, some stupid drunk teenage lad impressing 3 girls with a story about some cabby they once had who went on some **** holiday to a converted concentration camp for fun... it was pathetic story.

Hey, just gave me a good idea for my podcast. The worst fare ever.
