I don’t know what it is but just lately I’ve had quite a few invitations to take the taxi ride a step further and travel that extra mile in putting a smile on the face of my female passengers. Lol Naturally I politely refuse always informing them that I am a happily married man and they deserve a much younger and fitter version than the one they are trying to chat up.

I put it all down to drink but I got to wondering, if these gals are prepared to try it on with an old sea dog like me, then how do you younger fellas get on? lol

Regards

JD

Perhaps when you guys go on these BTEC courses to learn all about passenger communication skills you might wish to inform the Trainer that you've already passed that unit with flying colours? lol

Actually had one once who said the older man turns her on - and there's me all my life thinking it was a one way street with only the guys who liked the older/more mature woman.

One other more worrying factor is the Gay guys who come on to you, no not just me but countless cabbies have experienced the same

I think it was at New Year, I 'collected' a passenger from a house. On enquiry, I was told that the night was a waste of time and she was still feeling 'horny!!'

'Do you feel horny, driver?'

I didn't reply directly, being so taken aback with such direct inquisition.

'I'm very grateful for the compliment, my love. You have done immense good to an old chaps ego, but I'm happily married and have been for 33 years. That'll be £26.50 please.'

I had a pizzed up a gay guy in my cab the other night crying on my shoulder about losing his boyfriend. I wasn't interested in his nonsensical and sometimes over the top outbursts but I thought to myself how would a BTEC student handle this crazed pizzed up clown? Having not been to BTEC school I had to call on my experience in life to pacify this over-baring man lover.

When we reached his destination the fare was 5.40, he immediately started fumbling in his pockets, just like people do when they haven't got enough money to pay for the fare. I sat there as patient as a lamb until he delivered the goods. He slapped 3.10 in my hand and said there's 5.40. I counted the money and advised him that he gave me the princely sum of 3.10. He said I was heartless and that he had no more money. I advised him the fare was 5.40 and that is what I am entitled to demand by law and he needs to do a lot better than the 3.10 he offered me.

He eventually came up with another pound but I'm convinced he had more because the destination we arrived at was an all night garage. It was his intention to go inside and purchase whatever it was he needed and lo and behold when he left my cab he went straight into the garage shop, lol.

For expediency and the sake of the trivial amount concerned I decided to cut my loses and put it down to experience.

Regards

JD

Not a problem for me I don't usually work the late nights BUT one of my drivers did take it a bit further with a young female passenger a few years ago and was arrested by the police the following night accused of rape !! It nearly cost him his marriage and he stopped working nights although he does do the odd sunday night

As tempting as it is you do have a LOT to lose

theres a few cabbies or jacknorys around here who make out there always scoring

my advise is stay well clear of drunken girls offering payment in kind or beware of a knock on the door next morning from the boys in blue stating allegations have been made about you
