Post subject:  Small cars licensed as taxis / PH

Personally, I think the Focus and Astra are too small for the job, instead I'd use a Mondeo or Vectra. That's not to say that the smaller cars aren't licensed though.

What I saw today though was ridiculous, a Ford Fiesta on private hire, anybody else seen one working?

Nearly crashed my motor the other day when I saw a London licensed PH Fiat Punto. :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock:

We have both licenced as hack here, in fact there are 7 Astra's and 3 Focuses, the only stipulation Scottish borders council have is it must have a 1.4 engine or above, Oh and 2 Fiestas :shock:

There were a few of these working here as hacks back in the 80's. Standards seem to have improved a bit since then :lol:

You mean it nearly crashed into you as the clueless driver was probably lost again. :roll:

Punto? that's good, you should see some of the London Minicab fleet, great if your dwarf, useless for anything else.

I believe Addison Lee Minicab's still run a few 'Taxy bikes' ( :roll: )

They're not very popular, as I've yet to witness one with a pillion onboard.

The LTDA took them to court, as they originaly advertised them as London Taxi's with two wheels. [-X

I think the old Astra's were to small but a Ford Fiesta????
