After a fabulous six months in my new TX4 Gold, I have decided to put a further three of the taxis on as settle cabs here in Fife.
They're all Gold models and white in colour. All I can say is that on personal experience, coupled with comments from drivers and fares, the TX4 is a truly fantastic cab that is more than up to the job.
Don't knock what you haven't tried.
I'll have the 3 new cabs out in Glenrothes on Saturday hopefully.

I wish you well, and no-doubt do LTI.

Will these be the fictitious ones that no one else has seen up there, as per the last time you posted nearly a year ago   :D

All Gold spec. eh???
They sound very nice indeed. Almost too nice.

I spend quite a bit of time in Glenrothes actually, visiting family. I've never before seen a TX in the town, only ever non-WAV taxis and a few newer E7 / Eurotaxi type cabs.

I think these TX4s could well be a figure of your imagination, Scousemouse.

And where does the name come from?

Are there any Fife drivers on the forum tonight then? Particularly anyone from 'Rothes, cos this is the day. It's Saturday... have these new cabs hit the streets?
I'm sure they're going to stand out, three albino 08 plates.

You could buy Glenrothes for the price of 3 TX4's.

BTW - If anyone's interested, I've been speaking to a Glenrothes taxi operator. He's been there years and knows everyone. He tells me there haven't been any TX4s put on Rothes yet.

This fella's three white cabs are not really working.

I am unsure which taxi man your speaking to but I can assure you that my taxis are out there working in Glenrothes. I've got my own one that I've had six months and then I've got my three new ones which I'm renting to the drivers.

I'll see if I can take some photographs on my camera phone and upload them seen as for some reason you seem to be doubting the presence of my taxis in the town.

I've also got a 2005 Primera hatchback but that's going this week or next. It's been a good taxi for us over the last twelve months and has just 35,000 miles on the clock, but it ahs to go as my driver is not happy with the arrangement of the dials and the lack of storage and cup holders. TBH I'm quite disappointed that he doesn't want to drive it any more as when I asked him what taxi he wanted me to get him next he said a TX4. As you're probably all aware the TX4 is quite expensive.

Luckily, though, he said he's not too bothered which model but he said he'd like it to have air conditioning. I think I'll be able to get away with buying him a Silver model as opposed to the more expensive Gold version (which I already have four of). It's just come at a bad time TBH as I've got the tax due on two of my saloon cars (an Octavia and a Mondeo) as well as having to fork out this week for a new top sign for one of the cars after a drunken yob pulling it off the top of the car and breaking it against the side of an Ice Cream Van.

If anybody's interested in buying the Primera, either PM me or take a look at the advert that I'll be putting on Taxi Mart in the next couple of days. The cab was registered in July 2005 and has done just over 35k. the main advantage of this taxi is quite possibly the fact that when I first bought it, my brother in law's uncle converted it to run on LPG.

Anyway, I'll get some photos of the taxis up this week and let you see the cabs that I'm using to push forward the Fife taxi trade intot he twenty first century and beyond.

Managed to get a photo of two of the taxis tonight for you guys.

It's not brilliant because it was dark and I only managed to get two of the TX4s in the photo because two of the boys were away on long runs.

One of them (I'll call him Peter online) has gone to Shotts which is just outside of Glasgow taking a woman to see her son who's a lag in the jail. The other driver (whose name I will also withhold online, so let's call him Jake for the sake of making the story easy to follow) is away on a job to a wee village near Perth.

The photo was taken at the town centre rank at just after a quarter past eleven tonight. My flash on my old Nikon camera isn't too good, so if you like, I can get a better image hopefully in the daytime tomorrow. That's if it's quiet anyway, if we're busy then I mightn't have time and I'll have to do it on Friday.

Oh and by the way, i've found a buyer for the Primera before any more of you get in touch.

Photo below....
