I'm covered by the RAC and broke down at Heston services M4 southbound. They recovered me to Gosport with no problem

Which breakdowns WONT cover hackney/private hire vehicles? ive got (supposedly) full european ford beakdown cover on a 2nd hand vehicle just purchased, but would also pay for NU if needs be (was only £7 a month on a sprinter). |

The RAC want to charge you bundles for driving a PH/taxi, but the AA seem to allow you to use the standard membership. |

I also get family travel insurance included and an overdraft all for £10 per month. It is a Lloyds TSB Platinum account. |

It's the RAC, I get my cover through my broker....full recovery service for £66 and it is the RAC that come out to assist! |

Similar, Echo. (your quiet down there, as well then?) A few years ago, I passed Winchester on my way to Heathrow. The light came on saying the alternator wasn't charging but I pressed on, having turned all the unecessary electrics off. I dropped my paasengers off at terminal 2 and, while the engine was still running, asked a passing traffic warden where was the best place to break down. After he picked himself up, he suggested either the garage or McDonalds on the A4. I went to Maccy Ds for breakfast and awaited the RAC man. He was delighted....6 hours left on shift with a 2 hour tow....he was in line for an early Sunday afternoon finish. Worth the cost for the peace of mind IMHO. |

I've heard a few horror stories about the RAC and how they treat taxis as LOW priority I pay about £92 a year for a taxi breakdown policy with Autohome only used it once but was looked after |

i dread the possibilty of a breakdown with passengers onboard and if working as an independent operator 90,000 miles in 2 years with a sprinter, no problem but it wasnt a minibus! |
