All Taxi Drivers in the UK are self employed, which allows Romanians and those from the new EU accession countries easy entry into the UK as your job is guaranteed. Self-employment means that in effect you work for yourself although you are working under the auspices of a licensed company as a licensed driver. Do not be alarmed that you will not have a contract, this is perfectly normal in the UK; only 'employed' people have contracts.

The other guarantee you have is that unless you stay with the recruiting company for three months, I receive no fee for training you, so if you fail, we fail!
In order to succeed, we provide a course for you to take in Prague – learning traffic and client behavior. The course material you have to learn normally in the first 5 of the 15 day course can be sent to you in advance, if you can memorize the addresses (street and district - right and centre on list) of the named venues, you can reduce your course time in Prague drastically!
You will not be allowed to start work until you have practiced driving on the left and satisfied our driving assessors you are safe to do so. Your driving will also be assessed in Prague to ensure you are a safe driver.
The accommodation in the UK will be arranged for you from the day of arrival until one month after you start work.
There will be no charge for the accommodation while you are in any further training in the UK, you will be expected to pay rent once you have completed your first week working. Obviously you need to see and drive the roads and venues you will have learnt in Prague to get to know the city properly.
Once you have started work the recruiting company will provide references for you and help you to find your own accommodation.
The company will help you open a bank account and obtain self employment advice. The company would like you to stay with the company for at least one year, hopefully longer.
To gain the £300 - 500 per week (net profit) you will need to work 6 x 10 hour days a week. If you want to earn more, work more!
All the money you take is your own; any account journeys undertaken can be paid in towards your weekly office rent.
We promise to do all we can to help you settle into life in the UK and we promise to help find work for your wife or girlfriend if they require it. (Hotel and catering)
The course in Prague, (09,00 – 16,00 Monday to Friday). You will be provided with lunch in a restaurant free of charge and we can arrange very cheap hostel accommodation for those on the course (approx 300Kc - 10 Euros) per night in workers hostels.
There are no charges for this course and the recruiting company will pay for your flight to the UK and transfer you from the airport free of charge. Should you wish to attend the course you must shower, shave, wear trousers and a white shirt (a tie will be provided). NO JEANS, NO LONG HAIR, YOU MUST BE MINIMUM 25 YEARS OF AGE.
The course is conducted entirely in English; you must have reasonable conversational English. Your driving ability will be assessed in Prague. If your driving is poor you will be rejected at this stage.
You will need the following documents: EU driving license, criminal record check, police traffic conviction check and a letter from your doctor confirming you do not have any heart disease or diabetes (all translated into English by an approved translation body, stamped and notarized). These are not required in Prague (except your driving license) but you must have them before flying to the UK. If you arrive in the UK without the required documents you will be rejected.
