how the hell does a taxi firm set a driver on? by the time the checks are done a prospective employee would have gone and got a job driving a van or 7.5t or in a warehouse, im all for the checks but the time taken seems excessive, ive also had to plump for the next theory+knowledge test or wait till the july session, im glad my vehicle is parked in a compound without PH insurance ticking away.... |

If you are having troubles then approach your MP, CRB have to answer their queries very quickly. Time for return is dependent on how many times you have moved home, particularly if you have moved between areas covered by different constabularies. Now if there is another Mr Wannabbeahack born on the same day as you and he has a criminal record it could take a lifetime. |

and theres me thinking this 2008, not 1908, and computers link everything, as I say, my request for my full police records took about 10 days and cost £10, all records, convictions, court dates, etc. |

![]() Its all down to how innefficient or overworked your local police station is ours tends to take about 5 weeks to reply to crb enquiries part of your crb check is a local search and that is the bit which takes time I once got a crb check through in 8 DAYS the last one took over 2 months and i had to drive for 6 weeks with an out of date badge |

Our LA allows existing licensed drivers to fully re-license, including the issue of a new badge & licence documentation, pending receipt of the enhanced CRB report by the council. Another example of multi-standards within different licensing authorities up & down the country. Now apply for a gun license & see if the procedure is different around the country. Just goes to show how valuable our services are; rules to suit the individual rulers. |

The procedure is supposed to be the same.... but... just like hackney licensing it is down to the individual... some areas can take months and other areas a few weeks..... |
