Hi All

Peter from Happy Cars here

Just found this forum while looking for my taxi insurance. It would appear to be a very useful site.

I have 3 questions

1. Any recommendations for Insurance. we've got 7 cars to insure

2. Anybody heard of a these guys? http://www.click-a-cab.co.uk/ Never seen them before. Is it worth joining?

3. Back Fare. Anybody had any experience with it? good or bad.

welcome Peter

taxi insurance question, i was faithful to Westminister for years and the cost kept creeping up slowly, i dumped them and went to the link below and saved 400 quid a year

i find now its best to make these people work for the best quotes by shopping around, if this firm starts putting up the cost next year i shall look for another quote

Get a price and if they are cheaper than your existing insurer then go back to them with the lower price to see if they can beat it.

I know all the pros and cons, but I'm still not convinced that people out there are really giving up good quality work.

Theres no simple answer to who is the cheapest the best bet is to shop around there are loads of companies advertising in trade publications

I personally use MCE in wellingborough who are usually pretty competitive the 2 companies with which i have personally had problems in the past are Choicequote and westminster

But as others have mentioned sometimes your broker can drop their quote even lower if someone else undercuts them Buying insurance is a little bit like a dutch auction the broker is trying to get the highest premium out of you not offer you the bottom line price !!!
