Post subject:  if you think your having it bad over fuel prices...

consider the plight of the courier world, especially the owner driver...

i used to struggle to get £1 per mile (per loaded) for a 4.2mtr sprinter, althought this required no badge/plate the insurances are almost the same as for taxi work, so a 100 mile job would nett me £100, if there was no backload i was getting £100 for a 200 mile round trip, the van did about 30mpg

payment was an average of 45 days after invoiced, sometimes 60 days

glad i packed it in....

1991: £128.00 on the meter for an 8 hour Tuesday night shift - Fuel less than £9.00
