What a beauty.

Could even be viable to re-plate it for use in Blackpool.

Do you not fancy it GBC, clean the tank out, or get a new one from ford, a quick respray, convert it to LPG easy to do with a petrol engine, and no £400 RFL I bet it would pull more fares from the tourists.
I think that about 2k should see it back in service

Surely this would be a good buy for weddings etc and to be preserved as an historic part of our trade.

Wanna, Ford still make that engine so getting the valve seats would be no problem, you could even get a head from the scrappy's, you could even get an engine and box from a Granada, or transit, its the same all be it a slightly different cc

a Ford 260 1E petrol engine, this came in many guises as a 2,4 2.6 and 3Lr, it was first used in the Ford Consul, then the Zefa and right through to the Granada, the only difference today is the introduction of injectors as seen in the Mondeo

I sent the details to Bill Munro of the LVTA, he's going to pass it onto a few interested people, I think it'll go to a good home.

surely the current mondeo engine has no links at all with a any zephyr/zodiac engine, the bigger ZZ units were either straight or Vee 6 units, the straight 6 unite were police-tuned by raymond mays using twin stromberg carbs, the later v6 essex units of 3ltr, the 2.8 v6 cologne units had the dizzy at the rear, both v6 had oil pumps+dizzies driven by a hex shaft which wore and failed.....nice

The MkIV had an all-new body on the MkIII chassis and a Fords Transit engine.
