only he describes himself as a taxi driver.
so yes I read and understood his post.

perhaps you ought to read, then understand it

smug? yes smug I love it when the likes of you get it wrong!

I'll try again.

You said that you were terrified that people in London private hire knew so little.

But that's a non sequitur, because he isn't in private hire, although he obviously wants to be.

The point was that I think most people except yourself seem to appreciate that he's not in the trade yet, so doesn't know all the inns and outs.

Try reading the original enquiry - he said that he was JUST ABOUT TO GET A TEMPORARY PERMIT.

So your statement above is incorrect, and even if it was since he clearly hasn't worked for an office, it would be stretching things a bit to say that he was in the trade, particularly in the context of his questions, which weren't unreasonable given the stage he was at.

No wonder you were terrified - try reading things properly next time, and stop digging.

By the way, you also contradicted yourself earlier when you said that he was going to be let loose in London.

That sounds like something that will happen in the future, which hardly concurs with your view that he's in the trade at present.

Dear Mr Newbie Taxi driver

1) answer: No. And you can dispence with the insurance that you have. Keep the ex's down after all you are only carrying punters it is not as though you are carrying family is it.

3) answer: Don't bother with rent. Do as others do nip about, duck and dive. You will earn more.

4) answer: Don't worry about account work. The boss will take more than his fair share. Work for yourself mate do as in answer 3).

5) answer: Don't use it for mini cabbing mate keep it for Sunday best.
Go and buy yourself a [edited by admin] other wise you will stick out like a sore thumb. Also if you get done for ducking and diving let them impound the [edited by admin] heap and then buy another, then another. Get the picture? That's the way to do it in London. It is too big to police and you will get away with murder and earn mate. Earning is the name of the game.

Don't give way to London cabs, because they really hate you, despite the fact that you are legitamate.

Don't talk too much to customers, they couldn't care less.

And if someone says not to worry they wont be sick, take no notice and chuck them out, because they always are.

I will pray for you

a big tip dont repeat anything you hear in the car,

by the way I remember my first night, I was given a pocket full of 2p pieces to phone the office for bookings.

was sent for a Mr C Lion to go to belle view zoo.
and was chased by the licensing officer in Burnley, though I thought it was a car of hooligans.

weekends are bad to start

if though you get a pound tip dont assume what the customer tells you is true.

and fill the boot with spray on tan, at least you will then afford an extension and 2 new cars in the drive.
