ive been waiting for my crb for about 60 days now . i have to ring them tomorow and there going to contact police to hurry them up . once the crb have done this does it normally take long as ime getting a bit sick of waiting

that seems exessive mate i rang crb this morning and they have contacted police and put me on priority list with me waiting 8 weeks so fingers crossed...

I have mentioned this in the past.

Contact your MP by phone or email. They have a 'hotline' to CRB and seem to pull rabbits out of the hat.

If an MP starts chasing they have to action it very quickly.

I think the main problem with the CRB is the fact that so many councils require another one every so many years, and it is causing a back log.
Once you have had it done, and so long as you stay in the trade you should not require another just a simple police check

The Police in England (you lot might be different) dont do CRB checks anymore....everything is CRB.

my CRB (£36/12 weeks) was excatly the same as my police check (£10 and 2 weeks)

What I'm saying is that the police dont do it anymore....even though they do the work...its the CRB
