if the councils put this money into extra collections instead if the spying all would be happy and there would be no rubbish in the streets

So this lady is trying to protect our freedoms, and all you can do is rip the pi** out of her name. [-X

For the record, her, and her sister who works for the BBC, are fine people doing a good job.

I think the BBC is simply fantastic. Maybe a tad PC/tree hugging, but full value for money.

Of course not, but that doesn't mean the BBC is rotten.

That said, I quite like Ross and, dare I say it, Brand.

the SERVICE is quite good, but the content can be dire, ross/brand are the sort that let it down just to be trendy and to appeal to the very young, as al Murray said about the war in Iraq (to a student)

"when you pay for the guns/missiles THEN you can complain how they are used, and not before"

and hes right isnt he, so why is the BBC (paid for by the taxpayer) always sucking up to trendy younger sorts when they dont pay towards it?

we have patients lying in corridors on trolleys due to the lack of beds through funding cuts and wossie is on £18,000,000 of taxpayers money

children have have collections to get school books and the BBC gives away money like that, mind you, i heard they spent £17,000,000 on taxis so maybe i can see where your coming from

Apparently when it comes to Taxis the BBC don't appear to think outside the box so to speak. They do have a company in Manchester and no doubt other parts of the country that they have contracts with, but, it would seem that nobody has told them they only have to pay for the taxi one way. So if they required somebody picking up in Liverpool for e.g they would use somebody like Cabfind to source a company to supply a taxi in Liverpool to go to Manchester rather than ask the Manchester company to go pick somebody up from Liverpool and bring them to Manchester. This use of the likes of Cabfind is not cheap and they are doing this all the time and costing the taxpayer a bundle. I wouldn't mind so much but most of the time it is to pick up celebs, it must be the poor ones that have no money to pay for their taxi to appear on shows to keep them a celeb, it's all kinda strange to me :?

With regards to the council spying on us we've had quite a few taxi drivers done for dropping litter. In fact I heard they spent a week watching a couple of drivers who made a habit of visiting Maccys and dropping their litter then sent an accumalated fine to both of them  You also receive a notice about the laws of dropping litter and apparently if your passenger throws litter out of your vehicle it is YOU who is fined not the passenger eusasmiles.zip

I could be a BBC national taxi co-ordinator then, and introduce amazing ideas like....

Manchester airport to Salford........lets use a Manchester taxi firm

or even more radical, lets put it all out to tender for a price per mile

nah, they would sack me for being stupid

The very young, as you put it, are also entitled to a bit of the BBC's time/out-put.

The same could be said for many of those so-called premiership superstars.

Ross signed up for £18,000,000 over 3 years, a lowly 6 million a year

Guess he can be funny at times, annoying at others but no way worth 18 big ones over 3 years.

The BBC in London no longer use Taxi's but instead prefer to use the services of the PH mob, guess it may have something to do with their PC policy seeing as the majority of PH drivers i see around are of an ethnic origin.

BBC value for money ? hmmm, not sure; some of the content such as the documentaries are fantastic, very informative and very well filmed but then you get tripe such as vicar of Dibley, Little Britain and strictly come dancing not to mention that God awful Eastenders  that really should be taken off air ASAP.

Check out

http://www.bbc.co.uk/info/licencefee/

for more info on your licence fee......though had to giggle at this bit:-

Quote:
he BBC is paid for directly through each household TV licence. This allows it to run a wide range of popular public services for everyone, free of adverts and independent of advertisers, shareholders or political interests.

Are you sure about that BBC ?
