First it was James Whale, now it's Jon Gaunt.

What cretins do they have in charge up there?

If they let Gaunty go there will be no one left who is worth listening too.

Yet more PC sheeite. :?

'****' remark presenter suspended

A national radio station presenter has been suspended after calling a London councillor a "****" and "ignorant pig" during a live debate.

Talksport is investigating presenter Jon Gaunt's comments to Redbridge councillor/[edited by admin] Michael Stark after "a number of complaints" from 3 listeners with no life.

Gaunt was interviewing the councillor about the authority's plan to ban smokers from fostering children.

The presenter, also a Sun columnist, spent time in care as a child.

A Talksport spokesman said the station had "taken the decision to suspend Jon Gaunt whilst the matter is investigated".

He added: "When we have all the facts at our disposal, we will take whatever action, if any, that we deem appropriate."

During the debate on Friday, Mr Stark defended the ban due in 2010 by saying that children's welfare should be put ahead of the needs of foster families.

Gaunt argued that children in care would be deprived of chances to be fostered.

Redbridge Council, in north-east London, voted unanimously in favour of the ban last week.

It said it wanted to protect children from "the damaging effects of passive and second-hand smoke".

The Fostering Network charity responded: "We certainly view this as a good move in terms of creating a smoke-free environment for a child, but we don't agree that a blanket ban on any smokers becoming foster carers is the right thing."

Gaunt is a former BBC radio presenter, winning three Sony Radio Academy Awards in 2001 while at BBC Three Counties Radio.

I listened to that 'interview' and thought the guy from the council was a 'pr*ck' of the first order.

I wont be listening to talk sport till gaunt goes back.

Can only be more good news for LBC,
at least you can hear them on FM!

I love to listen to Mike Graham at the week ends Late night, early morning. He talks himself into trouble every week.

I have nevere been able to understand, the people who take an instent dislike to someone, then spend their every waking hour trying destroy that person.

Why?

That's exactly what you do with Peter Hendy, Bob Oddie, and some woman from Harrow council.

Pot, Kettle, Black.

I like Gaunty myself though rarely get to listen to him.......the one i can not stand is that Christo Foufas (however it may be spelt) on LBC on Saturday nights.........a screaming queen who gets all excited about reality TV shows, is it me or has LBC become the station of choice for homosexual presenters ? Just an observation!

You mean the 'entertainment show' which simply reiterates what's being shown on telly?

You'd think folks would rather watch it on the screen, opposed to listening to him babbling on with a regurgitated commentary? :?

That's the one GBC, i actually feel myself getting hypoxic when i hear that muppet waffling on about Strictly come dancing or any other tosh being shown on TV! It's so annoying how anyone can be given a prime time show to talk that bulls**t, kick him off and give Gaunty his slots.
