I post on a few footie forums where the admin regularly edit or remove posts. at the end of the day they have a responsibility to all that post and read the threads on the sites they have agreed to look after. there is plenty examples of legal actions being raised against posters and admin, so it can't be an easy task to decide where to draw the line. Having said that, most do put a statement in place of the post saying "removed by admin, because................." might be all that's needed here to stop any animosity brewing over trivial stuff, whilst protecting the admin when it gets hairy, as these things tend to do.

Is this a "If a tree falls in the forest, and no-one hears it. Does it make a noise?" type thread? 'Cos I'm too thick to enter any debate of that nature.

If something was there, but now isn't, do folks really need to be told it's gone?

Are they that thick? :?

It's only manners to explain why the post was removed, nobody expects the owners of the site to face legal action because somebody has gone too far.... even though they themselves might not think so... :wink:

That's as may be, but this way is better, because it becomes a mystery.

And when you get a mystery about a thread, that is no longer & most members of TDO, including myself, never saw the original thread, because it has vanished, for us that never saw the first thread it becomes a DOUBLE MYSTERY!!

And now we are in the pound seats, because we are doubly intrigued, by not knowing where the thread has gone to & not knowing what the thread was about in the first place.

And that's frustrating or should I say doubly frustrating.

Anyway, for all you that were lucky enough to have seen the original thread, which I didn't & am still wondering about the mystery of the thread, here's the thread again;

And some more on that thread;

And finally here's all the rest of the missing thread;
