A system restore will never rid a pc of a virus.

Correct. Viruses usually copy themselves to the system restore files and get restored with everything else. You should switch off system restore when cleaning viruses.

Skippy, did you reformat your hard drive and do a clean install of windows? If not, you won't get rid of the virus.

Yes Guss, all partitions where removed the whole comp was wiped clean then a full re install to factory settings

If you can, load firefox it's a more secure browser if it wont load on your pc you can download it from another pc onto a memory stick then put it on your pc try downloading Spybot from the firefox browser.

I've just done this with my stepsons pc with 387 trojans on it!

There is definitely a problem with the home page. My AVG has now flagged it up on numerous occasions.

Try running scans in "safe mode" (restart PC and press F8 on re-boot, choose Safe Mode) - switch off system restore first THEN put it back on when you re-boot.

Pleased your back with us Skip, and it's about time the frontpage was changed.

So Dusty is having a play and something sometime will replace what we have at present.

Which never did get finished.
