I know i am not alone in thinking that the Private Hire section of our Trade are indeed a growing cancer and, indeed a threat to our very existence thus, i wish to propose to Admin that a PH Section be initiated in order to allow TAXI DRIVERS to debate the TAXI TRADE ! after all, PH Drivers are, or never will be, TAXI DRIVERS ! Lets be honest, most of the TAXI TRADE'S problems stem from PH's and, in my opinion, if we can all quote the Law regarding the differences, why are we so ignorant and hypocritical by allowing PH members to air an opinion on our Trade ?

How will that work then? Everyone who is registered on this forum can comment on any section. I drive both Hackney and Private hire cars. Does that mean I can comment or that I can't comment. Stop thinking that you are above yourself and get real.

No you are getting above yourself by saying that you are better than private hire.

You won't find me burning the candle at both ends. You will find me doing the least hours for the most money though. I can pick and choose.

Dont talk wet....PH is nothing to do with "YOUR" trade...it is a seperate branch of transport completely....Probably you are being confused with Rogue PH that tout or even Touts with no licence of any type.

Do you whine about Buses, Trains or Planes being a cancer to "YOUR" trade...if not, then you should..because every one of those options that the Customers choses to travel with is one less customer to "YOUR" trade going by your twisted logic...

As we live in a country of free speech then anyone can talk about any subject they like on here...its often football or politics...and Im neither a footballer or a politician...but yet its discussed freely.

Maybe TDO should be more accurately renamed as TD&PHO...then youve no gripe at all...

Why do you think they grow so rapidly like a cancer?

You mean that you wish the admin to exclude ph from commenting on taxi issues?

Do they?

Probably because the majority of reasonable taxi drivers have an open mind and no objection to freedom of speech. Don't you think it is a human right to be able to speak freely.

I'd be more than happy to have a vote on the subject if Admin are inclined to do so :D

But are they really?

Many drivers are dual licensed, many work in areas where the entry criteria is the same, many PH drivers own taxis, many taxi drivers operate as PH with a license to ply, many PH drivers choose to drive PH rather than pay out fortunes to the taxi barons.

Which of the above would you refuse to allow to comment on taxi issues?

That's easy Mr Grandad.

You either just choose to criticise yourself, or to commend yourself.
