I have 3 times tried to type a long reply to a post and on all 3 occasions when I press submit the login page appears with me logged out.

Is there a time limit on typing and submitting a reply ?

It may be an idea to copy the text prior to attempting to submit it. That way if it logs you out you can just log back in and paste it then submit it quickly. If it logs you out again then it obviously doesn't like what you typing

Have you clicked the stay logged in box?

If it happens again you can click back a few pages until you get back to what you typed, then copy and paste it once you have logged back on.

But I'm certain it has nothing to do with the forum's software.

If I have a long thread to post, I do it in a word processor then cut and paste it into the box and submit.

Didn't bother with this one.
