It was probably a spam message which was deleted.

We get loads of spammers trying to join but normally we try to delete them before they get going, but that's not always possible.

We had about eight registrations in the six hours to midnight, and half of them were deleted - it's usually porn or drugs related stuff.

Probably a gremlin or the person you are sending the message to has blocked you out?

Does it occur in all instances of private messaging or just this particular person?
