I think many share the view that Newcastle licensing have not shown themselves in a good light by their actions, or should I say years of in-actions.

taxi enforcement gerard the top suit for enforcement is 01912783853 ring him and ask for plate,badge and test money refunded they let unlicenced vehicles do council contract school work some are licenced with unlicenced drivers but they dont go and check -give him the school and reg number and ask for your refund of fees why should you pay commercial fees when they turn a blind eye to a lot and the unlicenced psvs -make sure you ring gerrard, because if you just call licencing,if you ask about hire and reward, theyll say what is hire and reward? if you speak to a office worker ha ha har if it was saturday night i would have swore i wus drunk-maybe i should drink more ive played bingo this year-spot the enforcement for taxis and psvs if i seen them six times ill get mae sell a bottle of whisky -i like bells -i not seen one im a 24/7 guy black hack you know the hours i work!well not fer much longer i think big protest at civic CENTRE watch this space !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!demand licence fees refunded !no more rent !!! no more badge money !!if they let people do it to save council money they can do it for all !!!!!!!!!!!!lets all stick together and get the evening chronicle involved ! mutiny !!!

Is this a case of them letting this happen, or the trade allowing them to let this happen? :?

If this case goes in newcastles council favour,does it mean that a newcastle hackney cannot accept a phone booking outside his area!

Depending on the wording of the judgement. if the outcome you outline happens it will mean hackneys will need PH ops licenses to do work outside of their manor.

I understand that we are not that far away from receiving a verdict, hopefully it will be that the law has no control over the situation, a perfect time for the law to be revised.
:shock:

I wonder if the judge considered section 75?

75. Saving for certain vehicles etc.—

(1) Nothing in this Part of this Act shall—

(a)apply to a vehicle used for bringing passengers or goods within a controlled district in pursuance of a contract for the hire of the vehicle made outside the district if the vehicle is not made available for hire within the district;
