Interesting case from Ireland dealing with strict liability for who is driving a licensed taxi.

In this case the taxi owner argued that as he was unaware who was driving the taxi he shouldn't be charged with the offence of allowing an unlicensed driver to drive his taxi.

However the High Court decided it didn't matter if he knew or not as the offence was one of strict liability, and he should have had control of who had keys to drive the taxi.
