Group of London Hackney Carriage drivers challenged TfL for licensing FreeNow as a PH operator. But really it was a rerun of the 'plying for hire' issue that was heard by a previous court in Reading -v- Ali. There the courts decided a vehicle logged on the Uber app wasn't 'plying for hire', and therefore the way Uber advertise the availability of their vehicles wasn't unlawful.

Basically, the Appeal Court confirmed the Reading judgment and rejected the views of the London Hackney trade group.
