Delta and Veezu successfully appealed the lower court's decision that they, alongside all operators licensed under the 1976 Act, would have to add VAT to all their fares. The Appeal Court decided that the 1976 Act didn't require that they enter into a contract with the customers. Whereas the 1998 London Act did require operators to enter as principle into a contract with the customer.

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear an appeal by Uber against the Appeal Courts decision.
