So you agree with the maths now then? If you want to agree, just say 'I agree' - and 186 multiplied by 2 equals whatever.

You can argue however you want, you dont come from a deregulated area - you come from a regulated one - you are therefore working in a controlled manipulated environment - others arent - yet you claim to know - which from your posts on this thread you obviously dont.

Dustys whole thing is about he wants his own hack, Dusty however like many others can't grasp that he's not the only one, in Dustys mind he thinks yesterday there were 200 hacks and once deregulated there will be only 201 hacks, and that's if his bank is kind enough to lend him £30k to buy a WAV anyway, which as you say CC from how he posts I would say is highly unlikely.

I think you'll find his argument is that there are currently 200 hacks with 400 drivers and once deregulated there would be 400 hacks with 400 drivers

To the silly proposals yes, to the sensible ones no.

lol then we half agree

Captain, you're assuming that the half that you consider sensible are the same half that Mr Sussex does and the half Mr Sussex considers crap are the same half that you consider shiite.

It could be vica-versa, in which case you would both agree on nothing. and disagree on everything.

And it's funny that after the LC's hundreds of pages some people on here still can't seem to comprehend that two singled taxis will take up the same amount of rank space as one doubled taxi. #-o

Either that or they're being wilfully dishonest :---)

That's total BS.

When there are twice as many taxis, their proprietors will want to work the hours that suit them and the hours that suit most drivers happen to be roughly the same.

So of course there will be more cabs on the streets mainly in the daytime and there could be less on nights.

Then of course if deregulation grips all the drivers' imaginations that they will be earning 'manna from heaven' they will all get plates and work all hours of the day and night with a reduced hourly earning because everyone wants a piece of the cake, but the cake is the same size, except now you have to work must longer hours to earn the same money.

But then if all licensing authorities adopted and implemented Clause 68, second paragraph, last phrase of the Town Police Clause 1847, we might all stand a chance.

I've explained my case on the numbers earlier, if you can't or won't take it on board then that's your problem.

Oh, but I've seen several different scenarios in action.

By the way, I like your description of a "controlled manipulated environment".

I'll have to remember that one. =D>

But I'm quite fair - so I'll go to work this afternoon - and take a few photo's of what its like in a deregulated are with few rank spaces and few passengers. Because from what you've written today - you dont appear to know what its like at all.

Photos of lots of taxis? Never seen that before.

But you can take photos of lots of taxis in any area, so what would that prove? :-k

Again you make it sound like there's hugely more deckchairs rather than them merely being rearranged.

As Sussex always says, a driver can only drive one car at any one time.

Did you actually bother reading what was posted in connection to York?

Yes, I read some totally meaningless and misleading numbers if that's what you mean?

The only figures I've seen for York are the ones posted in the recent article in the news section, if that's what you mean. And as myself and others have tried to explain they're simplistic, meaningless and misleading.

Yeah.....and coming from a deregulated area....I disagree.

Yeah, and having seen both scenarios at close hand I can exclusively reveal that two-singled shifted cars don't represent twice one double-shifted car.

At least by any reasonable analysis, ie other than that employed by the likes of yourself and councillors in York. :D

Well I'm sure that once we've gone round the block a hundred times you'll actually reveal something that'll be totally irrelevant
