3372 people were convicted of taxi touting in London between 2003 & late 2007, 50% of which were LICENSED private hire drivers.

Did he also forget London has two different types of Hackney Carriage driver?

They would just have to read the comments made recently about how flawed the oft report was to see that a national taxi licence is just a stupid suggesting.I also noted that the taxis users lot had no concern about taxi drivers at all .

People seem to forget Private Hire covers a plethora of differing functions and that private hire is a customer choice......the first cab on a rank isnt!

And the reason they are zoned is if they weren't then no cabs would work the sticks.

And who can blame them?

Another thing the Minister mentioned made we shout out.

Nothing to do with him as I think he came across ok, despite him not wanting the new Wembley in his manor, but what he said about insurance in Sefton/Liverpool.

FFS are the T&G saying that every licensed Sefton vehicle owner lives in Sefton, and every licensed Liverpool owner lives in Liverpool.

Do the T&G every think before they spout? :sad:

Mr Steve Wright MBE must have forgot about the following too;

320 Minicab Drivers Caught Touting

Tuesday, 28 September 2010 08:44

On 1 August 2008, the Mayor introduced a ‘one strike and you’re out’ policy for licensed private hire drivers convicted of touting. Since then 320 PHV drivers have had their licenses revoked for touting. In February 2010 Transport for London extended the policy to include ‘Adult Cautions’ as well as convictions, which has resulted in a further 61 revocations.

It might be of interest to you to know.... that when insuring a Liverpool hackney... it does not matter where you live..... the insurance is based on the fact that it is a Liverpool hackney.... the rate is based on Liverpool.... no matter who you contact.....

How very strange.

Is there that much of a difference between two neighbours? :?

So worst case is £2,500.

And the T&G are telling the minister that's why Sefton drivers are licensing in Sefton rather than Liverpool. :roll: :roll:
