We have (in Swansea) heard rumours about a "CAB ACT 2011", could I ask if anyone has heard anything about the above.

Apparently there will be something in Parliment on the 19th July 2011.

Could someone please enlighten me.

Thank you

There will not be a new act, just yet, but a report is out on Tuesday from the Transport Select Committee, and that may lead to a cab act next year or the year after.

What's in the report we will have to wait 48 hours for, or if we can get a copy before!!!!!

If there is a Cab Act 2011, it will be an utter balls-up, because the powers that be will not have had enough time to have consulted and reflected on what should be enacted to try and get sensible legislation.

And if we have a Cab Act 2012 the same is very likely to apply.

But a Cab Act 2013 or 2014 is far more likely to be sensibly and correctly drafted, having had time to mature, just like a good wine.

But then vintage wines can spoil from becoming ‘corked’, so we might still ‘be drinking the same crap’ even if new legislation is enacted.

If you click on the links below, there is some interesting reading on the subject of a new Cab Act from the recent archives on TDO.

I can now reveal that I am, in fact, a consultant for the department dealing with this

There will be big changes, PH can take flagdowns in any area, HC will only be allowed to sit on ranks

5000 LO's will be replaced by 500 VOSA officials when all badging and plating is taken over by VOSA

Lti will be nationalised

Brummie will get a sex change..........ooops, sorry, phone tapping works

oh look............. a flying pig

I was told by someone who is asked to consult on these matters that if there is legislation it will abolish PH and require them all to become hackney which in some areas will mean 100% wav's across the board

But then he's told me no end of BS in the past so I would think this is bs AS WELL

I was also told that all these rumours were started by a certain trade union that was expecting to have a very successful recruitment campaign once they'd scared everyone with the rumours

I've been down to Portsmouth for a few days, seeing my daughter at her graduation ceremony and spending some quality time with her.

I note you say spending quality time with her, rather than quality time in the s*** hole named Portsmouth. :-$

What is it about these south coast towns that makes them hate each other ?

Possibly a diluted version of what we see in the Scottish section?
