Last week I had a few days holiday near Lyme Regis. LR is just inside Dorset and the LA is West Dorset DC. I was staying at a caravan site about 3 miles from Lyme just over the border into the East Devon LA.

We'd walked into Lyme and planned to get a cab back. It was a mid week evening but none of the local Lyme cab firms could offer us anything for almost an hour. The alternative was to ring an Axminster firm that are licensed by East Devon. Our camp site was about 1/2 between Lyme and Axminster. They could be with us in 15 mins so got the job. Note, pick up in area of LA not licensing the vehicle but dropping of within it.

As an ordinary punter, would I worry about which LA licensed the vehicle in these circumstances - no! Just wanted to get back to camp. Presumably the new act will allow this as does the current legislation.

Very good point indeed!!

They'd better allow it!!!

There will be loads of people stranded, like you almost were, if they don't allow it.

Yes, but the area which the call was received sent the licensed vehicle.....which is legal.
