who are the taxi trade looking to..... to represent them

I think the answer should be the Associations (Local and National) and the Unions.

I think the answer is not enough in the trade are represented at all.

Which is a shame, because despite many thinking it's all a done deal, if we have to have changes let's get some changes we like. We can get the input in there but we need to make sure we are represented.

I don't care what you are in, Union, Local Association, National Association or even in a Forum - just get in and get your views heard.

Of course part of the problem is, if you have ten Taxi Drivers in a group you have got eleven points of view - and that's on a good day!

Certainly I do Mr T, as a member of the Trade Meeting and in many other ways as well.

I see communication with PCC as vital and I try to get the feelings of the membership over to the Officers of the Council and the Councillors.

Stop communicating and you get trampled.

I totally agree with your sentiments and logic..... so you will understand that there are times when the people on the other side of the table have well and truly made up their minds before they even entered the room.

So that's when you work even harder to get them to modify, if not change, their mindset.

Easy it aint - but you keep trying on until EVERY single avenue is exhausted.

You can't always win, but you can often achieve something.

I have to disagree.... that is when you use your knowledge of their system to place them in a position that they have to then defend.. or surrender.... they have rules that they must abide by .... and if they don't they can be sacked..... that is their weakness...
