For reasons known only to themselves, and despite all logic, the commission continue to be convinced technology has changed the taxi and private hire industry, they dedicate chapter 12 to it.

The point seemingly escaping them is the fact that how a job is received is of no consequence whatsoever, the call must still be received via a PC or telephone.

Blinded by b*llshit I guess.

I think this is used to support the idea that a private hire operator doesn't need to be based in several places, they could indeed just have one national call centre to take all work. I can think of a couple of operators that will benefit from this

But that point isnt mentioned within the document; but I suppose large private hire operator wnts to close local office and send jobs to India wouldnt be a headline the private hire operators that wrote the document would want?

To actually label the point about technology they quote cases before the internet came about ffs!

The fact there hasnt been a internet related cross border prosecution seems to be superfluous.

I don't know if they intend to move things to India, but, they don't want to move things from perhaps London or Sefton maybe

I would perhaps be concerened about Veolia/Transdev Group. In several major US cities they run taxi operations and I think I saw they did in Europe as well. With national PH licensing they could be all over the country like a rash.

I have no personal expereinec of AL in London, but there success suggests that from a customer point of view they must be doing something right.

I think his apparent admission in wanting to pay additional cash to accept bookings is rather quaint
